The High Net Worth Individual Scheme (HNWI) was launched on Thursday 15th September by the Hon Tonio Fenech, Minister of Finance. This scheme is aimed at EU/EEA/Swiss Nationals and Non-EU/Non-EEA/Non Swiss Nationals who wish to apply for a special tax status under the HNWI Rules, 2011. Applications for a special tax status under the High Net Worth Individuals Rules, 2011 may only be submitted to the Commissioner of Inland Revenue through the services of an Authorised Registered Mandatory.
